Bailey Marcotte, Intern

Hello! My name is Bailey. I primarily work with children, and I specialize in working with anxiety, social emotional learning, ADD/ADHD, autism, behavioral concerns, and self-esteem challenges.

I am passionate about embracing a person-centered approach that prioritizes the experience of my clients feeling genuinely acknowledged and understood. Cultivating a robust therapeutic relationship is paramount to me, as I aim to foster an environment where individuals feel at ease and empowered.

My work with children encompasses a versatile array of therapeutic techniques, including play therapy, art therapy, and activity-based approaches. I deeply value expressive arts therapies, as they serve as a powerful conduit for younger children to articulate their emotions and experiences in a therapeutic context. These modalities not only facilitate self-expression but also contribute significantly to their healing process.

In tandem with these creative methods, I also draw upon evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Integrating these techniques allows for a comprehensive and tailored approach, addressing both immediate concerns and fostering enduring positive change. I believe that a combination of interventions provides a holistic and effective framework for my clients' growth and well-being.

I have previous experience as an elementary teacher and working with children and their families. When teaching, one of the subjects I taught was a social emotional learning curriculum daily and found the importance of teaching social skills, emotional awareness, and healthy coping skills.

I am looking forward to connecting and collaborating with you!
