Hi! My name is Lianna, and I am pursuing my M.S in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University. I am passionate about creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients of all ages feel welcome to share their experiences.
I am especially interested in working with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety & depression, life transitions and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). My work experience includes teaching therapeutic skills to children and adults struggling with anxiety and mood disorders in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and my goal is to meet each client where they are in their healing journey. I am particularly interested in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care.
I hope to incorporate clients' interests into the healing process whenever appropriate, whether that means taking a walk, using art, or exploring other meaningful activities. I believe counseling should be tailored to each person's needs. I strive to bring warmth into every session, creating a space where each client feels comfortable being their authentic selves.
