Hi, my name is Jayna! I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School, where I have gained knowledge in counseling theories, ethical practice, multicultural competence, assessment, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based interventions. My education has strengthened my understanding of the importance of creating a therapeutic space where individuals feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow.
My counseling approach utilizes techniques from Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and authenticity. I strive to create a welcoming and non-judgmental space for adolescents, adults, and families where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace. Together we can explore challenges, identify harmful patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and build on your strengths to support a meaningful and lasting journey.
I have behavioral health experience from working as a case manager for adults and families. In these roles, I had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds by connecting them with community resources, advocating for their needs, and helping them navigate life’s challenges. These experiences reinforced the importance of meeting people where they are and recognizing the unique strengths that each person brings to navigating various barriers.
I believe counseling is a collaborative process, and my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and respect as you work toward the life you want to create. Whether you’re navigating a difficult season, seeking personal growth, or simply looking for a space to feel heard, I am committed to providing culturally responsive, ethical, and compassionate care that supports your journey.
