Hello, my name is Aaron! I specialize in helping individuals of all ages work through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and achieve a more ideal version of their life. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. I currently hold two bachelor’s degrees, one in Sociology and one in Criminal Justice, from Saginaw Valley State University.
Through my background in residence life and housing, I have experience working with college students in crisis response situations, assisting with student development, and aiding in creating opportunities for a positive student experience. I also specialize in veteran mental health issues, as I have a military background after serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserve myself. These roles have allowed me to gain experience in a number of situations where I was able to develop a deep sense of care for the mental health and well-being of those around me.
My approach revolves around acceptance and commitment therapy, meaning we will work with your own unique values and beliefs in achieving the goals we set together. I am dedicated to creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you feel safe and comfortable talking about your experiences.
My own mental health and self-care play an important role in my life. I love lifting weights, playing volleyball, playing video games, swimming, and spending time with friends!
I look forward to supporting you on your journey in growing and healing!
