Hi, my name is Angelica! I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands, where I am developing my clinical skills, gaining theoretical knowledge, and expanding my cultural awareness. Prior to transitioning into counseling, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University Chicago.

I am interested in working with diverse client populations, with a particular interest in immigrants, refugees, individuals experiencing cultural stress, and those navigating the various life transitions of early and middle adulthood

My approach to counseling is curious, caring, and collaborative. I want clients to feel safe, heard, and understood. My approach primarily draws on Person-Centered Therapy, which focuses on providing a nonjudgmental and empathetic client-centered space, while also incorporating behavioral approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I strive to bring cultural humility and sensitivity into the counseling relationship and tailoring therapy to meet each client's unique needs.
