Hello! I’m Alyssa. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and am currently pursuing my Master’s of Social Work at Aurora University, with the end goal of becoming a licensed clinical social worker. My practice is rooted in the social work value of dignity and worth of a person, as well as self-determination, and meeting clients where they are. My approach is client-centered while also recognizing the broader systemic and structural factors that impact mental health and well-being.
While working at a domestic violence crisis shelter, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals in their most vulnerable moments, offering support, stability, and hope in times of crisis. In addition to this, I am passionate about helping individuals explore their identities, understand who they are, and feel more grounded in their sense of self.
Pulling techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, I help clients better understand and manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how they correlate to each other.
In our work together, you can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space where your experiences are met with empathy and curiosity. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, exploring your identity, or processing difficult experiences, I aim to offer new perspectives and tools to support growth, resilience, and self-compassion and understanding. We’ll move at your pace and collaborate on goals that feel meaningful to you. Everyone’s experience of healing is different; it’s intricate and extremely personal, and I am here to make room for that.
