Hello! My name is Shira. I specialize in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation/self-harm, and personality disorders. I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work at Northeastern Illinois University.
I take a person-centered and integrative approach, meaning that your values, your strengths, and your goals guide our work together. Some modalities I enjoy utilizing are CBT, DBT, and ACT, as well as art and writing. Given my educational background in social work, I believe that we are all profoundly shaped by our relationships, communities, and the societies we live in. I see therapy as an opportunity to explore both internal struggles and how external factors may be impacting your well-being.
My style is compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. And I love to add in humor when appropriate! I’m committed to creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and embraced as your authentic self. A vital part of that safe space will be the therapeutic relationship. Within our relationship, we can process challenges and celebrate your strengths and growth.
I look forward to getting to know you and working together to build a path toward healing.
