All cats are exposed to different viruses during their lives. As with humans, the younger the animal the greater the susceptibility to illness.
Panleukopenia (also called Feline Distemper, Feline Infectious Enteritis or Feline Parvovirus) is a highly infectious virus that can cause very serious illness in cats. Kittens are particularly at risk. When they come down with a viral infection, they may show symptoms of a high temperature and loss of appetite. Kittens can also then become very dehydrated and diarrhea and vomiting are likely to occur. Unfortunately many viral infections go un-noticed as symptoms tend to mimic foreign bodies in the gut. If a queen is pregnant, she may only have a day or two of being off color (which may go unnoticed). What are the Ingredients?
Panleuk-Free contains the following 100% homeopathic ingredients:
Panleukopenia (30C): This is a homeopathic nosode and is a homeopathic form of the Panleukopenia virus. Homeopathic nosodes support the body's natural resilience to harmful agents. They differ to conventional vaccines in that they are usually manufactured without using the crude form of the virus (as in many conventional vaccines.) Conventional vaccination seldom supports immunity without numerous subsequent booster shots.
Arsen alb. (30C): This a popular treatment for iron deficiencies and gastric disorders as well as tonics for horses and other animals. Arsen alb. is often used for digestive upsets including cramping, vomiting and diarrhoea. This remedy is particularly suited to cats who are affectionate towards their family and very caring but who also tend to suffer with respiratory ailments, asthma or breathlessness. This remedy suits those cats and kittens who tend to suffer with exhaustion and whose condition can be expected to worsen very suddenly and may be more profound. Symptoms tend to improve with warmth.
Phosphorus (30C): This remedy is mostly derived from North Africa in volcanic regions and is commonly known as calcium phosphate. It suits cats that are affectionate, enthusiastic and expressive - that "bite off more than they can chew"! When feeling un-well they tend to become lethargic, easily exhausted and crave support, love and comfort. This remedy is beneficial for alleviating nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and exhaustion. Symptoms tend to worsen during windy weather and are most noticeable in the evenings and mornings.
Baptisia (30C): This remedy is native to North America and Canada and was originally proved by Dr. Thompson in the mid 19th century. Baptisia is almost exclusively used for conditions with extreme fevers that are accompanied by fatigue. This remedy suits instances where diarrhea is present (usually foul smelling), but passing of stools is not painful. Ferrum phos. (D6) This biochemic tissue salt is derived from Iron phosphate and is extremely beneficial when addressing any inflammation. Ferrum phos. also helps to support the walls of the blood vessels and thus improves the body's ability to distribute oxygen-rich blood and iron to all cells, thereby facilitating healing.

How do I use PetAlive Panleuk-Free?
Directions: Sprinkle one pinch on the tongue once a day for three days, beginning at 12 weeks and repeating annually or when your cat has been exposed to possible infection. When there is risk of infection, Panleuk-Free may be administered to kittens younger than 12 weeks - this remedy is safe even for newborn kittens and pregnant queens.
Acute: Sprinkle one pinch on the tongue every two hours or until symptoms subside.

Advice from Sr. Cathy:
Wash food bowls and litter trays with a 1:32 solution of household bleach. Try and contain the affected cat in an area away from other cats in the household and clean the area with the 1:32 bleach solution for at least 10 minutes. The virus can remain active in the environment for years.
It is vital to seek advice from your vet especially if the cat is very young as dehydration sets in very quickly and can be fatal.
Keep your cat warm as a cat who becomes severely dehydrated may develop a lower than normal body temperature.
Once you have the vomiting under control - feed very small portions of bland food and water every couple of hours.
