Since we at PetAlive have launched our EQuine Range, we have had the exciting opportunity to become involved in the Equestrian world! We have been witness to many skillful riders and their equally stunning horses - one of which we are very proud to sponsor. Kim is an up and coming rider.
This is Kim's story about her beloved horse 'Sammy'...
"I got Sensation, fondly known as "Sammy", when he was a two year old. I slowly backed and trained him, by the time he was 5 he was ready to enter into the show scene. I have brought him up through the grades where he is now competing at Elementary-Medium level dressage and Novice Showing.
In 2009 he competed successfully in higher Novice and Elementary classes. This year he won the WP leg of the nationwide SANEF Competiton at Elementary level, coming 7th in the country!! He then went on to win his first Elementary-Medium competition with 65%.
Sammy has very sensitive skin, especially in summer he gets terrible sweet itch and scratches non-stop! We tried nearly everything we could find and nothing worked. We then put him onto Allergy Itch Ease and within a week he had stopped his manic scratching and already looked happier. We now keep him on a maintanence dose of Allergy Itch, and although he occasionally has outbreaks, we have his problem under control."
