What is Natural Kids
JuniorSlim Formula?
Children of today's world face
significant challenges in maintaining healthy body mass. Processed foods and
a sedentary lifestyle in front of a TV or computer monitor have resulted in
an increase in overweight and obese children. Children who are overweight
also have self esteem, social and emotional problems and can struggle to
keep up with their peers. Excess weight in childhood also predisposes
children to obesity in adulthood and many conditions previously associated
with obese adults (e.g. diabetes) are now becoming more and more common in
children. (see below for more information on childhood obesity and
weightloss).
JuniorSlim is a
complex herbal remedy especially developed by a qualified Clinical
Psychologist to address the emotional as well as the physiological causes of
overeating and weight gain in children. Presented in a convenient liquid
tincture form, this remedy is a 100% safe and effective natural remedy to
assist with healthy weight-loss in children and preteens. JuniorSlim is
formulated to maintain healthy digestive functioning and also acts as a
tonic for the liver, kidneys and spleen. Combined with a healthy lifestyle
and diet, Junior Slim will help children to loose weight safely and also
prevent weight gain without compromising healthy growth in children and
preteens.
Like all Feelgood Health
products, JuniorSlim is developed with care by our practising Clinical
Psychologist, is 100% natural and manufactured according to the highest
pharmaceutical standards. Individual ingredients are well-researched and
have been specially chosen for their high safety profile in childrens’
remedies.
What
are the ingredients?
JuniorSlim contains the
following carefully chosen herbal ingredients:
Foeniculum
vulgare
(Fennel): Fennel has been used since ancient times as an appetite
suppressant and was traditionally used to prevent 'growling stomachs' during
church services. Fennel also promotes the functioning of the liver, kidneys
and spleen. The health of these body organs is essential for the breakdown
of dietary fat and the elimination of waste products from the body.
Mentha piperita is a herb from the mint family
and has been used for many hundreds of years for improving digestion. It
relaxes the muscles of the digestive tract and stimulates the flow of
natural digestive juices and bile, thereby assisting healthy digestion.
Taraxacum officinale
(Dandelion)
is
found in many parts of the world and contains bitter principles which have a
stimulating effect on the liver and digestive system. It is also a very rich
source of vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A, D, C, and B and iron,
silicon, magnesium, zinc and manganese.
Astragalus membranaceous (Huang Qi) is a herb
which has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for many centuries as a
revitalizing tonic for the endocrine system. It is a very useful protector
of thyroid and adrenal gland function and also helps to maintain stable
blood pressure, metabolism and blood sugar levels.
Glycorrhiza glabra (Licorice) originates in the
Mediterranean and the Middle East and has many uses, including being a tonic
stimulant for the adrenal cortex and digestive system.
Stachys
officinalis
(Wood betony) is used to support nervous system and is very useful for the
child who tends to 'comfort eat' or eat to mask anxiety and insecurity. Wood
betony is also an excellent tonic for the cardiovascular system and will
promote proper digestion.
Melissa
officinalis
is also called lemon balm and is well-known for its soothing and calming
properties and is widely prescribed by herbalists for stress. This herbal
ingredient is also excellent at maintaining a healthy digestive system.
JuniorSlim
contains less than 1% pure pharmaceutical ethanol when diluted as directed.
How has Junior Slim
helped other children?
'My son Chad is only 6 and had already started to become overweight. He was
always on the chubby side but starting school and being exposed to a lot of
junk food like chips and candy (which he loves) started to take their toll.
He became the butt of teasing and bullying because of his size and I could
see this was affecting his self-esteem. I didn’t want him to be a fat child
who would grow to become a fat and unhealthy adult so decided to take
action. JuniorSlim was the best choice I could have made. We began to
monitor his diet a bit more closely and provided more healthy options for
school lunches. Within weeks he was more energetic and seemed happier and
he has steadily lost his “pudgy” look over the last few months. I have
recommended Junior Slim to some other moms who are concerned about their
kids putting on weight and everyone has been very impressed.'
Janet F.
'Unfortunately
my 11 year old twin girls have picked up on their parents’ bad lifestyle
habits and their lack of exercise and poor diet began to take its toll on
their health and young figures. With both my husband and I working
full-time, fast-food for dinner was almost a daily occurrence in our home.
Our daughters (like us) became overweight and unhappy. At the age where all
their friends were becoming aware of clothes and boys my two girls became
withdrawn and I knew it was because of their weight. We bought JuniorSlim
and also began to eat more healthily at home. The changes have been
astounding - both girls have shed their puppy-fat and are looking absolutely
lovely. This has given them confidence and set my mind at rest about their
health in the future. JuniorSlim is an excellent product!' Cheryl
and Steve
'I just
want to tell you that Junior Slim worked very well to help me lose weight. I
am so happy because now I can also do gymnastics like my friends and I don’t
get tired like I did before.' From Candice (9)
How is
Junior Slim used?
JuniorSlim is ideally suited to children between the age of 3 and
12, but may be used for children from the age of 12 years and older. Use one
drop per age year of the child in approximately 1/4 glass of water or juice.
Repeat two to three times daily before meals.
It is recommended that JuniorSlim be combined
with regular exercise and a healthy diet for best results.
Caution: Not recommended for children under one
year old. Do not deprive your child of healthy food. Consult a dietician or
nutritionist for advice if your child is significantly overweight. (for more
help, see below)
How long until I
see results?
Because children are
growing all the time, it is better to aim for healthy fat loss,
rather than weight loss. This means that normal growth is
supported, while unhealthy fat is gradually shed and replaced with lean,
strong body tissue and toned muscles. Regular use of JuniorSlim will show
gradual fat loss without jeopardising normal growth. Immune system
functioning will be enhanced and you should notice your child becoming more
energetic and happy within
3 - 6 weeks.
For optimum results,
combine with regular physical activity and a healthy balanced diet.
How long will a
bottle last?
One 50 ml
bottle will last approximately 30 days, depending on dosage and the age of
the child. A 120-day supply (see the
Buy 3 Get 1
FREE special below) would be four bottles.
Health Information on
Childhood Obesity
Please note that this information is offered for
educational purposes only and is not intended to be a substitute for
professional medical attention. When in doubt, please consult your health
practitioner.
Childhood Obesity
In many developed
countries, childhood obesity is reaching epidemic proportions. Obesity in
children and adolescents can have far-reaching consequences for both the
health and social development of these young people. Obese children usually
go on to become obese adults and can suffer from all the health problems
associated with being overweight.
Over the past two
decades, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity amongst South African
children. While statistics on childhood obesity in South Africa are not
readily available, it is estimated that 15% of children aged between 6 and
11 years in the US are obese. These statistics are worrying because of the
impact obesity can have on childrens’ health, self-esteem, relationships and
normal development. Furthermore, along with the rise in childhood obesity,
there has been an increase in medical conditions in children and adolescents
that were previously considered adult diseases and found very rarely amongst
young people. Researchers and doctors are coming across cases of
obesity-related illnesses in children more and more frequently. These
conditions include Type 2 diabetes, asthma and hypertension.
Causes of childhood obesity
Obesity in children is
caused by several factors - mostly similar to those for obesity in adults.
A genetic predisposition to obesity has been found in children of obese and
overweight parents and, of course, genes cannot be modified. However, other
factors which have to do with lifestyle can be modified to prevent weight
gain and to help obese and overweight children lose weight.
A lack of regular
physical activity or exercise is common amongst today’s youngsters as
sedentary leisure activities like watching TV and using computers abound.
Eating habits also
directly affect weight in children and adolescents. Consumption of
high-calorie (usually low nutritional-value) foods is common with the
growing popularity of fast-foods, convenience meals and “junk” food like
candy and chips. Poor eating habits also contribute to over-eating. These
may include eating during other activities such as watching TV and eating
when not hungry. Instead of running around outside or taking part in social
activities with their peers, many children eat to relieve boredom. Stressed
and overworked parents often resort to unhealthy fast foods, candy and other
high sugar, high fat foods due to lack of time to prepare healthy meals and
in order to compensate for quality time with their children.
Weight loss
and prevention of childhood obesity
Healthy
habits are best learned at a young age as behaviour change can become more
difficult as children grow older. Healthy eating habits and a positive
approach to physical activity and exercise are two of the most important
gifts you can give your children for their long-term health and happiness.
Parents are often the most important role models for children and having a
home and family that prioritizes a healthy lifestyle will put children and
adolescents on the path to natural, healthy, long-term weight control.
Health Tips for Healthy Families!
Try the
following measures to create a more exercise-friendly and active
environment in your home and community:
-
Get the
whole family involved in physical activities that everyone enjoys like
walking, bicycling or rollerblading.
-
Get
other families in your neighbourhood involved in group activities or
games like basketball, tag or touch-football.
-
Make
each member of your family responsible for different active chores like
mowing the lawn, washing the cars or vacuuming.
-
Encourage participation in organised sports or activities like dancing,
tennis, martial arts etc
-
Limit
sedentary activities, especially computer games and TV.
The following tips
will help you to instill healthier eating habits in your home and
family members:
-
Plan
meals in advance to make shopping easier and get the whole family
involved in preparation. This will reduce time needed for preparing
healthy meals and will teach children about healthy cooking methods and
food preparation.
-
Eat
meals together at the dinner table at regular times.
-
Allow
enough time for meals, as eating in a hurry is bad for proper digestion
and does not allow a feeling of fullness to develop.
-
Avoid
other activities during mealtimes such as watching TV.
-
Avoid
foods that are high in calories, fat or sugar (learn to read food
labels!)
-
Have
snack foods available that are low-calorie and nutritious like fruit and
vegetables cut into convenient snack-sizes or small cartons of yoghurt.
-
Serve
smaller portions but allow for second helpings after a short wait.
-
Limit
fast-food and junk food to no more than once a week.
-
Don’t
use food or lack of food as punishment or reward.
