Depression:
Treatment Options
Depression
should be taken seriously and is more than just feeling sad. Because
it is an illness, one cannot simply "snap out of it".
If the person feels suicidal or threatens suicide, immediate medical
attention should be sought. There are various "self-help"
steps that can help depression and can even cure it in some cases.
Try the following:
-
Exercise daily,
preferably in the fresh air. If you can, go with a friend. If
you can't, go alone, but DO GO! Walk, jog,
skip, dance, swim, play a sport, go to the gym - whatever!
Regular exercise increases metabolism and produces "feelgood"
chemicals in the brain. You'll be surprised at the
difference after even a week!
-
Ask your pharmacist to
recommend a good
multivitamin
supplement.
Make sure it includes iron, magnesium, zinc and a full range of
Vitamin B. Even if you don't feel like it, try to
eat regularly
and have sufficient water or fresh juice. Avoid coffee,
alcohol and drugs.
-
Find someone trustworthy to
confide in.
It could be a family member, priest or friend. Talking about
your feelings helps! Listen to their advice carefully, but
always follow your own instincts. If you really have nobody to
talk to, write your feelings down.
-
Mindsoothe
Capsules are
our 100% herbal alternative
to prescription antidepressants are especially formulated by our
Clinical Psychologist to treat the major symptoms of depression
and anxiety. Mindsoothe contains both St John's Wort and
Passiflora in therapeutic dosage. While Passiflora calms and
soothes, studies have suggested that St John's Wort is at least
as effective as many prescription anti-depressants, without most
of the side effects.
-
Examine your life and identify
areas that need
change. If self-help efforts are not successful,
get help.

Make sure that the person you consult is qualified and experienced.
